My yaya’s (my high school friends of 41 years) and I take a trip each year. I do believe the older we get the more fun we have because, quite honestly, we don’t give a rat’s ass what anyone thinks about the way we dance, the way we sing, our saggy boobs and big butts and the tummies we all have from having kids-we are “girls just wanna have fun” in the true sense of the phrase!
We old broads traveled from Texas to Nevada (Vegas Baby), rented a car, drove to Utah, spent the night in Utah, went through Arizona to get to Lake Powell back in Utah-spent 3 days and 2 nights on a houseboat-ate, swam, played games and were as much the entertainment as we were being entertained. We then drove back to Southern Utah through Zion Park, took amazing photos, made lots of memories and drove on to Vegas where we were upgraded to a penthouse at the Bellagio. We spent one night in Vegas and partied like we were 18 again. We ate, we drank, we danced, we gambled (we covered all the sins except adultery (well 3 of us are divorced so it wouldn’t have been adultery if we would have done anything) – we had an amazing time. So ladies, hang onto your friends-don’t let time get in the way. Keep in touch because when your kids have grown into adults and have families of their own and you and your spouse (if you have one) look at each other on a daily basis and wonder what the hell you should do next-call your high school gal pals and go on a trip-I promise, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry but most of all, you’ll be young again!
